The Center is directed by Adam Brown, Psychology Faculty at the New School for Social Research, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine.

Job Description

The New School Center for Global Mental Health, Directed by Dr. Adam Brown, is a leading Global Mental Health Center at the New School University in New York City. The Center seeks to increase access to mental healthcare in diverse contexts through scalable mental health trainings. The Center is currently working on a number of projects in the US as well as in other countries. We are looking for an apprentice who is interested in learning how to deliver mental health trainings to community organizations and university students. We are interested in someone who has some experience in the health and mental health field, feels comfortable presenting and teaching to groups, and who is interested in learning more about the field of global mental health.

Support the center staff in daily projects, such as administrative support in collecting data, organizing meeting notes, hosting events & workshops on campus and on partner sites across New York City

Managing the project social media platforms, keeping track of views, monitoring communication happening on platform

Managing basic finance budget sheets, organizing receipts and keeping track of spending

Learn about the psychosocial interventions created by World Health Organization(WHO) and obtain basic understanding of it

Support research efforts of students and staff

Required Skills

Basic administrative and organizational skills, such as, but not limited to: taking notes, organizing documents, etc.

Basic Business English Skills (Writing emails in English, conversing during meetings in English. etc.)

Ability to utilize Google Suite (Google docs, slides, sheets) & Microsoft Office

Comfortable conducting and participating in video-conference meetings via Zoom and Google Meets
