Through collaboration and promoting inclusive, scalable practices, the New School Center for Global Mental Health seeks to improve mental health outcomes and ensure access to care for all populations, regardless of their background or circumstances.
The Center is directed by Adam Brown, Psychology Faculty at the New School for Social Research, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the New York University School of Medicine.

Job Description

The New School Center for Global Mental Health, Directed by Dr. Adam Brown, is a leading Global Mental Health Center at the New School University in New York City. The Center seeks to increase access to mental healthcare in diverse contexts through scalable mental health trainings. A major focus of this Center is to adapt materials for different communities. We therefore work closely with graphic designers and illustrators to create content to fit the trainings and materials for different populations. We are interested in someone who has some experience graphic design, social media, and illustration and who is interested in learning more about the field of global mental health. We are also interested in someone who can help to document the work we do and share on social media and other platforms.

Design visual materials for a diverse range of Center projects, including print media (e.g., posters, flyers), digital assets for social media, and branded merchandise.

Collaborate with project leads and the Center director to enhance the visual identity and aesthetic quality of all design outputs, ensuring consistency and alignment with project goals.

Required Skills


Basic administrative and organizational skills, such as, but not limited to: taking notes, organizing documents, etc.

Basic Business English Skills (Writing emails in English, conversing during meetings in English. etc.)

Ability to utilize Google Suite (Google docs, slides, sheets) & Microsoft Office

Ability to utilize adequate design-related platforms, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, inDesign, etc.

Comfortable conducting and participating in video-conference meetings via Zoom and Google Meets

Ability to prioritize task list and flexibly adapt to fast-paced work environment

Ability to work independently and be responsible for one’s own work

Ability to communicate with students, center members, and university staff in a collaborating manner

Ability to communicate the needs and requests to supervisors and to co-workers

Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Ability to multitask and work across different projects

Able to both keep attention to detail and look at the bigger picture
