Phantom Hands, established in Bangalore in 2014, is a design and craft driven contemporary furniture maker. We collaborate with acclaimed international furniture and textile designers to create contemporary designs that celebrate the craft traditions of India. With distribution in over 30 countries, we are emerging as one of the few global design brands from India. Our manufacturing facilities and offices are based in Abbigere Industrial area in Bangalore. We are a team of over 100 people, including 70 skilled artisans in carpentry, upholstery tailoring, cane weaving, etc., and a work culture that places a high priority on ethics, integrity and excellence.

Job Description

To work as a prototyping carpenter in our R&D team and support our team of designers with making
various prototypes and models.
The role will involve:
- Building prototypes, sub assemblies and components of wooden furniture based on drawings
provided by our design team
- Feedback to the design team on issues faced while making the prototypes
- Sharing best practices and knowledge exchange with our team of carpenters

Suitable for Zimmerman / Schreiner / Charpentier students. 


Required Skills

We are looking for interns who are trained in woodworking and
have some experience in working with handtools, basic
powertools and classical woodworking machines like planers,
bandsaw, spindle moulder, panel saw, etc. Must be able to
read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
