Job Description

We offer an internship position in our R&D laboratory for students or graduates from the Swiss Vocational Education and Training system. The intern will support ongoing research and development activities in the field of materials and formulations. Main tasks include preparation of raw materials and samples, execution of standard laboratory tests, and documentation of experimental results according to internal procedures. The intern will assist R&D specialists in development trials, help maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure a clean and safe working environment. The position provides hands-on exposure to industrial R&D, insight into applied research processes, and practical experience in a professional laboratory setting. The internship is supervised by experienced R&D staff and offers structured learning opportunities aligned with vocational training objectives.

Required Skills

  • Solid hands-on laboratory skills, including safe handling of chemicals, accurate weighing, dosing and sample preparation. 
  • Familiar with standard laboratory equipment and test procedures and works precisely according to instructions, SOPs and safety regulations. 
  • Able to document experimental work clearly and reliably, using lab notebooks and basic digital tools (e.g. Excel, Word). 
  • A structured, clean and safety-conscious working style is essential. 
  • Reliability, attention to detail, willingness to learn and the ability to work both independently after instruction and collaboratively within an R&D team. 
  • Basic German skills are required; basic technical English is an advantage.
  • At least business-functional Japanese proficiency (spoken and written) is required to perform daily work without difficulty. *Communication within the laboratory is conducted mainly in English or Japanese; however, some team members communicate exclusively in Japanese.
