As the official representation of Switzerland in Seoul, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, legal arrangements, science, education and culture.
Swissnex, the science and innovation international network under the State Secratariat of Education Research and Innovation has also a presence in the Embassy. The office is mostly in charge of facilitating research cooperation between Switzerland and Korea, promoting Swiss higher education and supporting Swiss startups interested in the Korean market.
Join our team for a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the administration of an Embassy. We offer a unique international work environment in a diplomatic setting. You will gain insight into the daily operations of an embassy, professional growth through diverse tasks and responsibilities, and the development of administrative, organizational, and project management skills.
As an intern, you will be involved in a wide range of administrative and project-based tasks, including but not limited to:
Administrative support
Managing email correspondence and handling shared mailboxes
Organizing and updating filing systems
Assisting with bookkeeping tasks
Conducting inventory controls
Assisting with the implementation of credit card payments at the consular counter
Contributing to the redesign and update of the embassy’s website
Reviewing and updating internal policies, guidelines, and procedures
Collaborating with the facility management team to develop service agreements with partners
Supporting teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of events
Collaborating with consular, economic, science and technology (Swissnex), and cultural teams on special projects
Participating in interdepartmental meetings and providing administrative support
Performing additional tasks as instructed by supervisors to support embassy functions
High-performing generalist capable of handling various administrative tasks
Ability to work with diverse nationalities and cultural backgrounds
Open and approachable personality with a high level of flexibility
Ability to work independently
Versatile, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Quick learner with strong critical thinking skills
Active problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in administrative and financial tasks
Proficiency in English; Korean is an advantage
